The Wahl Color Pro Hair Clipper Kit is an absolutely complete kit. It even comes with a cape!The package that contains all the accessories can be used as a travel case, where all items sold together with the clipper fit very comfortably. It’s also quite a sturdy case and so the items within are well protected.Inside there are various accessories, including barber scissors and combs, a bottle of blade lubricant, a brush to clean and remove the hair from the blades, a protective cover and, the best part, several colorful, adjustable comb guards.Each guard size has a different color so that the different lengths can be easily identifiable and once you get used to your preferred length, it is easier to remember the combs that you usually use.There are also two completely black guards which are intended for cutting over the ears (the guard teeth are not of the same length and have different shapes so that you can use one for the right side of the head and one for the left).The guard combs are easy to attach and they adhere perfectly with the hair clipper blade block. This enables for a more fluid job and is ideal to avoid residual hairs being logged between the surface of the blade block and the attachable comb.In total there are 11 attachable combs of various lengths, including the two for the ear area. I am a long time clipper user. I use them to cut my own hair and to do other assorted grooming. I have been a long time user of the corded version of these clippers. I bought a pair of this cordless version hoping that they would be better for my usage and am very happy to say I love them (I’ve included a picture of both units side by side). After an initial use, I must say I prefer the cordless over the corded version for several reasons.First, these cordless clippers provided the cleanest, fastest cut of any clippers I can remember using which is surprising since I was using them in battery operated mode. I always oiled my blade on my corded clippers, but I don’t remember them ever cutting so well. The cordless clipper blade is full size and uses the same guide comb attachments as the corded version. But the cordless has an advantage in that the clipper head snaps on and off for easy cleaning, while a screwdriver is required for the corded version.Second, although I initially thought this cordless version’s lack of a blade adjustment lever on the side was a negative, it actually turns out to be a positive for my use. This lever has actually been a source of frustration on my other pair of clippers because I would set it before cutting my hair and it would always seem to move while I was using the clippers. I would then have to go over spots to make sure everything was even. Also, at some settings the blade would have more of a tendency to accidentally cut me. On the corded clippers the blade is permanently set at what seems to be the ideal position, further reducing the tendency for accidental cuts. And if I want to control the height of my hair cut I can just use the appropriate guide comb attachments that are included.Third, the smaller size and weight and the ability to use these in cordless mode (you can still use them corded if you prefer) makes them much more convenient. I no longer have to have a cord plugged into an outlet in the bathroom which risks knocking things over or getting wet and causing a shock hazard. And the lack of cord makes them much more easier to move around while doing grooming. I love being able to just unplug them, do what I have to do, and plug them back in.So, to make a long story short, let me just say these clippers seem perfect for my needs. I can’t speak to the battery life at this time except to say that I did not notice any decrease in power during the 20 minutes or so that I used them continuously. And only time will tell how well they hold up to frequent use. But for now they’re everything I was looking for. I plan on updating this review if my initial impressions change.

I’ve never written a review before, but I had to due to the horrible experience I’ve had with this device. It worked very well the first time. Then, following the instructions that came along with it, I cleaned and oiled the device prior to storage. Fast forward some weeks. It’s time to cut my hair again and the clipper makes noises but doesn’t cut. I went online to try and find a solution – nothing, there’s not a single video of this device. Talk to the company only to find a machine recording telling me to call later (this happened several days in a row). I’ve e-mailed them and I’m now waiting on their response to my inquiry. Until such time, I’ll probably leave this review as it is. TLDR – Don’t waste your money on this.Edit January 2020: The company replied to me and sent me a replacement very fast. They were very kind and helpful. The new machine works just fine. It’s been several months since my last review and it continues to operate great.

Love it. Received and just used it today. Charged it for 30 minutes and used it to give my 2 sons and husband a haircut. It did not die and lasted well through 3 haircuts, which each took along time as my sons did not stay still. My husband has hair past his shoulders so it also took a long time to cut his hair. (The buzzer came already with some charge because I was able to turn it on right out the package). My husband has an older, corded buzzer that is very heavy and hurts my hand. Its vibration even hurts my hand. (I’m starting to get arthritis). So I hate his buzzer. Plus, it is also very loud and scares my sons. But this buzzer is light weight and easy to hold. It fits nicely in my hand. It’s vibration is slight so doesn’t cause me any discomfort. It is definitely a lot less noisy than my husband’s buzzer but its noise still bothered my autistic son, who has sensory issues. My sons are 3 and 4 years old. I cut my 3 yr old’s hair first. My 4 yr old son, who has autism, was not bothered by the shaver’s buzzing noise while I was cutting his brother’s hair. In fact, he was excited. He couldn’t wait for his turn but once we got started and the shaver was buzzing close to his ear he didn’t like it anymore. It was too loud for him at that point. But I didn’t find it to be that loud and neither did he when it wasn’tclose to his head. I honestly don’t know if its possible to get a buzzer that is even has a lower volume than this one. I think ear plugs would help but he won’t wear them. I’m definitely not going to take any stars off because of this noise issue, as my son is just extra sensitive to noises. But I thought I would mention it for any other people who were planning to use it on a child with autism or sensory issues.

It works pretty much as described, and I can easily recommend to most people (There will ALWAYS be some for which anything as “technical” as this will be too hard to understand – Look for the one star reviews).HOW TO USE1) Start by watching a YouTube video or two.2) Read the instructionsEASY INSTRUCTIONSAfter 1 & 2 above, just take the largest “shield” and do your entire head. Look in the mirror.Switch to the next size down, and cut from the bottom up, but stop at the side of the top of your head. Look in the mirror.Switch to the next size down, and cut from the bottom to halfway up the previous cut. Look in the mirror.Switch to the Left and Right ear shields. Cut along the edge of the ear from BACK to front. Look in the mirror.By this time you’ll have a good idea what more to do, if anything.You will want to make some changes to suit you and your head, but this will get you stared..Over all – Very good, and better than some barbers have done.One minor point – The actual clipping part CAN BE KNOCKED OFF. Look at it carefully to see how it has to be snapped back in. ***One way will work, THE OTHER WILL BREAK IT.***To help it to snap in, AFTER lining it up correctly start the motor. That was the only way that I got it to snap in easily.If all of this sounds too technical, go the a barber shop or hair salon.

Purchased this for grooming my Cockapoo. Other buzzers usually get caught in his fluff and can take me hours to groom him. These cut through his curls without any resistance, and when I felt that they were starting to lose their edge I just applied more oil and they were back to being fierce again. No more hours wasted on grooming this chewbacca of a dog.

Great clipper with many comb sizes available. There are larger sizes available then what is included in the kit.I use this to cut my own hair. I was originally thinking I would just use it to make small adjustments to help extend the length between going to the hair stylist. With the discovery of the 1.5″ wahl guide comb I am able to cut the hair on the top of my head, very easy to do with the cordless. Cutting the sides requires a little thinking because I have 5/8″ on the sides and back. After watching a couple on-line videos on how to cut hair with clippers I realized what needs to be done.Whenever I go to the hair stylist I always get let down with the cut. The last time was the breaking point, it seemed like everything I was asked was just thrown out and my hair was cut their way. Very frustrating to say the least. I thought that in the worst case I could do no worse. What I did was get one last hair cut after I purchased this clipper. I watched very closely how it was done, not too close on the parts I didn’t like. Any way, I went home and put a guide comb on the clipper and with the clipper off, I pushed it through my hair. I was able to find which guide comb was used on my head and how far up the sides. I have 5/8″ on the sides and back and 1.5″; on the top. Wahl makes the 1.5″; guide comb which really makes the deal. I put the 1.5″ comb on the clipper and turned it on then ran it over my head, it just cut some stray hairs but I was able to see just how easy it was to use, I could hold it at all the angles needed to run over the top of my head. Overrunning the sides and back were no issue since they are shorter. Then I put on the clipper for the sides and ran it around. The area where the sides/back meet the top need to be blended gradually which is really easy using the technique on the Wahl website and shown in the instruction book, called blending. The blending is using the rocking motion at the end of cut, the photo in the instructions and the video make it clear. Same technique my hair stylist used too.So far I have done 3 hair cuts, I cut more often because there is no charge and I figured if I messed up the problem would be small. The result was amazingly good and took almost no skill. The hardest part is squaring off the back, kind of hard to look in a mirror and watch while moving the clipper. I just did several dry runs, with the clipper off till I felt I had the technique correct then turned it on and cut. Perfect results. Now I cut my hair in the morning before taking a shower, no lost time sitting in a hair cut shop waiting to have a less than average hair cut.I received 12 guide comb attachments with the clipper. I think there was more than the basic set. Very happy with the quality of the combs. The clipper feels good and it is not too heavy. No cord really helps cutting your own hair. The case is a soft zipper case, holds everything in it. It is ok quality. I have not yet ran a change out on the clipper, it lasts longer than I could possibly use it. Perhaps for several hair cuts it would not make it but for one person no issue. The rechargeable battery is the weak point, the instructions say it will only last 3-5 years. Seems short but the instructions also say the clipper can be used with the cord plugged in. So that would be the back for one day when it finally gives up.This really changed my mind on cutting my own hair. It is no harder than trimming a beard, really easy for me to pick up. If you ever thought about cutting your own hair give it a try, you may be surprised how easy it can be. Just get it cut one more time at the hair stylist then go home and run the clipper with the comb attached, no power and see what was cut to which point. That really helps teach you how to cut.UPDATE: I have been using this clipper to cut my own hair for over 1 year. I have improved cutting my hair a bit. I cut my hair more often these days because it is no charge and I like to maintain the same general look. I’m amazed at how easy it is to cut my own hair, I should have tried this years ago. It has become so easy to cut my own hair I hardly think about it any more. I have become better at cutting my own hair so that it looks the way I like it. And I can repeat it easily. My wife likes the way it looks too.

Dropped the clippers on the countertop cutting my hair one day and broke a piece off of the cutting head. I contacted Wahl customer service via email, they returned my mail the next day and said a replacement part would be in the mail.Indeed it was, free of charge… Colleen did a wonderful job instilling faith in Wahl products and service.

I own the corded version and it has served me well. Unfortunately I ended up dropping it and it got out of alignment, so it was time to repurchase. Long story short, I came across the cordless version and decided to give it a try. I’m very satisfied with it, it really makes giving myself a haircut much easier than before. The very surprising thing is that I don’t miss the adjustable taper at all.Battery life is sufficient for at least two haircuts, so that’s a plus.Cleaning is a breeze and the fact that head is removable makes it even easier.All in all, for the same price, I don’t see why would anyone choose the corded version over this one.
